(Big headline)
Mr. Fulvio Zilioli, Jun-Shihan and The Technique of Uechi-Ryu Karate
(Introductory remarks)
In Italy, most people begin to learn the defense techniques when they learn karate, but in Japan, the instructor is an educator, and teaches courtesy, manners, and etiquette first.
(The Text)
[A strong man is never violent at all and helps the person who is weaker than himself. The weak person is going to start fights and tries to abuse others and stand dominant, but a weak person becomes incompetent when he/she encounters a person who is stronger, making it impossible for their existence.] It is a saying written on the homepage of the first Karate classroom and Japanese club Nippon Budokan where it was introduced on to Italy.
After three years of living in Okinawa, the 58 year old Mr. Fulvio Ziliori Jun-Shihan returned to Milan in 2003. It is due to his efforts that the Uechi-Ryu he learned in Japan has spread to Italy.
“The hand is opened in the game, and leap into motion instantaneously” These are features of everyday teaching of students in Milan.
From 7 years old to 50 years old (there was the 65 –year –old student last year, too) Everybody pays humble attention and follows it.
Mr. Jakomomorerro who built the Dojo in Italy four years ago and is an instructor and in charge of the Dojo is a descendent of the great grandfather of the same name as Italy’s first samurai, who lived in latter half of the 800’s.
Mr. Zilioli explains saying that “I wanted to spread the component in our country which had disappeared in the present age Karate” For example, Kotekitae is training necessary to train the muscles of the forearm and leg that are needed for the basics of Karate competition in general.
Such training has a purpose to overcome fear when a karate person meets an opponent.
Mr. Zilioli will instruct students with clear purpose of the Karate technique acquisition starting next season.
His purpose is to enable his students to participate in the Uechi-Ryu world tournament that takes place in Okinawa in 2012.
Some students are from Pesaro, from Ventimiglia, from Torino and live in Milan, and train Karate techniques at the Dojo in Milan.
We were able to invite a Japanese instructor to the Dojo to learn the basics of the Uechi-Ryu Karate directly from Japan one year ago. Now it’s time to prove that we reached the level that we can spread Uechi-Ryu Karate to the world.
The instructor concluded by reflecting the basic philosophy of Karate as follows.
In Italy, most people begin to learn the defense techniques when they learn karate, but in Japan, the instructor is an educator, and teaches courtesy, manners, and etiquette first. Then we learn the basis of a wholesome method on how to understand our life.
